Er gebeuren veel nieuwe dingen in de wereld. Ons bewustzijn groeit en dingen als spiritualiteit en zorgdragen voor de aarde zijn steeds meer onderwerp voor gesprek. Reclames spelen in op onze nieuwe milieugevoeligheid, boeken als The Secret zijn enorm populair en zelfs Oprah besteed aandacht aan spirituele leiders. Steeds meer mensen beginnen te geloven dat alles met alles samenhangt en dat we invloed hebben op hoe ons leven en de wereld er uit ziet. “Be the change you want to see in the world,” zei Mahatma Gandhi. En daarmee wijst hij ook naar dat moeilijke stukje, waarbij we eerst allemaal naar onze eigen donkere kanten zullen moeten durven kijken voor we onze gezamenlijke donkere kanten als oorlog, honger en de ongelijke verdeling in de wereld echt onder ogen zullen durven zien.

Ons, als de grondlegger van Shekinah en als scenarioschrijfster, viel op dat er over dit onderwerp nog geen films zijn gemaakt. Wel veel documentaires over het broeikaseffect en de wet van de aantrekkingskracht, maar nog geen inspirerende speelfilm over ons groeiende bewustzijn, wat er mogelijk is in de wereld en dat moeilijke stukje: naar je eigen donkere kant durven kijken. Met het scenario van From the Heart of the Labyrinth geloven wij een spannend psychologisch drama te hebben geschreven dat zowel een goede inspiratiebron als een mooie avond vermaak zal zijn. Het is onze bijdrage aan de verandering die wij willen zien in de wereld.

Omdat het verhaal in de toekomst in Frankrijk (Chartres) speelt en we een internationaal publiek hopen te bereiken, is het scenario in het Engels geschreven.

Wie wij zijn

Wij, Karin Koetsveld, scenariste, en Krijn Koetsveld, Shekinah-master, hebben niet voor niets dezelfde achternaam. Wij zijn vader en dochter. Naast deze warme familieband zijn we vaker samen actief geweest in literaire aangelegenheden. Met deze film zijn we voor het eerst een professionele samenwerking aangegaan. Dat bevalt erg goed. Krijns werk, met name met de Shekinah-energie, is het uitgangspunt en de achtergrond van het verhaal en het idee om daar een speelfilm van te maken. Karin schrijft het scenario. Het filmverhaal

Heery krijgt te horen dat zijn moeder op sterven ligt. Heery weigert zijn moeder te bezoeken omdat zij bij Cras, Heery’s tweelingbroer in woont. Ze heeft Cras in Heery’s ogen altijd als haar lievelingetje behandelt en bovendien is Cras getrouwd met Heery’s grote liefde: Rodith. Door een sprankje hoop dat hij Rodith misschien weer terug zou kunnen winnen besluit Heery toch naar Chartres af te reizen. Daar treft hij Rodith die inderdaad nog gevoelens voor hem lijkt te koesteren, maar de dood van zijn moeder en een bijzondere ervaring op het labyrint in de kathedraal geven Heery’s kijk op het leven een draai die hij nooit voorspeld kon hebben.

Twee studenten van Cras spelen een belangrijke rol bij Heery’s labyrintervaring. Zij besluiten hierdoor van ‘mensen over het pad van het labyrint leiden’ hun werk te maken en openen aan het eind van de film hun praktijk: Labyrinth Path. Vandaar de naam van deze site: www.labyrinthpath.eu.

Zet deze film in de wereld

Het scenario is grotendeels klaar, maar een scenario alleen maakt nog geen speelfilm. Daar zijn al die honderden mensen voor nodig die je op de aftiteling van doorgaans elke speelfilm ziet. Op dit moment zijn wij op zoek naar al die mensen, en dan vooral naar een producent (of meerdere), een regisseur en financiers. Dus ken jij iemand die geregeld op een speelfilmaftiteling staat en die wel wat zou kunnen zien From the Heart of the Labyrinth? Breng dit scenario dan onder hun aandacht. Welcome to the From the Heart of the Labyrinth (working title) film site.

About this project

A lot of new things are happening in the world. Our consciousness is expanding and people are talking more and more about things like spirituality and the care for our planet. Commercials use our new sensitivity about the environment, books like The Secret are very popular and even Oprah talks with spiritual leaders on her show. More and more people start to believe that everything is connected and that we have an influence on what our life and the planet looks like. “Be the change you want to see in the world,” Mahatma Gandhi said. And by saying so he also pointed at that difficulty, in which we first should dare to look at our own dark side, before we will be able to face our collective dark sides as war, hunger and the imbalanced wealth in the world.

We, the founder of Shekinah and the screenwriter, noticed that no one has made a film about this subject before. There were documentaries about global warming and the law of attraction, but no inspirational feature film about our expanding consciousness, what is possible for the world and that difficult part, to look at your own darkness, was made. With the script of From the Heart of the Labyrinth, we believe to have written an exciting psychological drama, which will be a source of inspiration as bring you a nice evening of entertainment as well. It’s our contribution to the change we want to see in the world. 

We are Dutch. But because the story takes place in France (Chartres) and because we hope to reach an international audience the script is written in English.

Who we are

We, Karin Koetsveld, screenwriter, and Krijn Koetsveld, Shekinah master, share our surname because we are father (Krijn) and daughter (Karin). In the past we engaged in literary events together. But this film is our first professional collaboration, which suits us well. Krijn's work, particularly with the Shekinah energy, forms the starting point and background for the story and led to the idea to make it into a feature film. Karin is responsible for the script.

The narrative

When Heery hears that his mother is dying he doesn’t want to visit her because she is living with his twin brother Cras. Heery thinks Cras always has been his mothers favorite son and on top of that Cras married the love of Heery’s life: Rodith. Because there’s still a spark of hope he might win Rodith back, Heery decides to go to Chartres. That Rodith still has feelings for Heery too, seems to be confirmed there. But the death of his mother and an exceptional experience on the labyrinth in the cathedral turn his view on life around in a way he could have never imagined.

Two students of Cras play an important role in Heery’s labyrinth experience. Because of this they decide to make their living out of guiding people down the path of the labyrinth. At the end of the film they open their practice, called: Labyrinth Path. That’s where the name of this website, www.labyrinthpath.eu, originates.
